NASA SEWP V GWAC

Understanding the NASA SEWP Contract

Government Acquisitions, Inc. (GAI) proudly announces its successful award of two NASA SEWP V Government-Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs). These prestigious contracts empower GAI to support federal agencies with advanced information technology (IT) solutions that are both scalable and secure. As a trusted small business and HUBZone-certified provider, GAI stands ready to deliver innovation under the SEWP V framework. Through SEWP V, GAI continues to expand its ability to deliver secure, high-performance IT solutions that directly support federal modernization priorities.

What is NASA SEWP?

SEWP, pronounced “soup,” stands for Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement. It is NASA’s flagship GWAC program and has become the gold standard for acquiring IT products and services across the federal government. SEWP provides agencies with a streamlined way to purchase IT hardware, software, cloud services, and related solutions while ensuring fair competition and compliance.

What is SEWP V?

SEWP V is the current and fifth generation of the program, offering expanded product categories, faster processing times, and improved tools like the Quote Request Tool (QRT) for streamlined pricing and procurement. These firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contracts allow federal agencies to efficiently acquire IT products, cybersecurity solutions, and product-based services such as installation, training, and maintenance.

Through SEWP V, agencies can quickly acquire:

  • Desktops, laptops, tablets, and servers
  • High-performance and database servers
  • Mass storage and network devices
  • Cybersecurity and networking tools
  • Audio-visual and video conferencing systems
  • Cloud platforms and software solutions
  • Emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and edge computing
  • Product-based services such as installation, training, and maintenance

Why SEWP V Matters to Federal Agencies

IT Modernization

SEWP V is more than a procurement vehicle; it’s a strategic enabler of mission success. By giving agencies access to cutting-edge IT solutions, SEWP V allows them to:

  • Keep Pace with Technology Change: Acquire next-generation tools quickly so IT infrastructure never falls behind.
  • Strengthen Cyber Resilience: Obtain FedRAMP-authorized cloud services, secure networking gear, and compliant endpoint solutions that reduce risk.
  • Drive Digital Transformation: Support modernization initiatives such as zero trust architecture, hybrid cloud adoption, and remote workforce enablement.
  • Support Agency Missions: Ensure systems are optimized to meet the unique demands of defense, civilian, and research organizations.

Streamlined and Compliant

Unlike traditional procurement methods, SEWP V is designed to be fast, fair, and low-friction, reducing the time between requirement identification and contract award. Agencies benefit from:

  • Rapid Ordering Process: Orders are typically processed within 1–2 business days, helping agencies meet critical deadlines.
  • Built-In Competition: With over 140 contract holders across five groups, SEWP V ensures price reasonableness without a full RFP cycle.
  • Regulatory Confidence: Purchases are fully compliant with FAR Part 16.505(b), and agencies can meet small business and HUBZone goals with ease.
  • Transparent Market Research: The SEWP Quote Request Tool (QRT) provides side-by-side price comparisons and audit-ready documentation.
  • Scalable Flexibility: Whether ordering a single laptop or a complex IT solution, SEWP V supports orders of any size with the same streamlined process.
